So over the next few weeks I will be posting theme songs for Bush and on Jan 19, 2009 we will have a poll for you to pick your favorite.

I am asking for submissions from all paltlkians, no matter what party you agree with, no matter your IQ score or no matter your species (yes that means even mw can join in).

Paltalk's Hillbilly Reunion

Paltalk got to experience it's very first hillbilly reunion yesterday, it was a scary sight indeed.

We got to see a 'Hind LickManeuver' ( you don't know what that is, let me explain in a humorous way)

Two hillbillies walk into a bar. While having a shot of whiskey, they talk about their moonshine operation.
Suddenly, a woman at a nearby table, who is eating a sandwich, begins to cough.

And, after a minute or so, it becomes apparent that she is in real distress.

One of the hillbillies looks at her and says, "Kin ya swallar?"

The woman shakes her head no.

Then he asks, "Kin ya breathe?"

The woman begins to turn blue and shakes her head no.

The hillbilly walks over to the woman, lifts up her dress, yanks down her drawers and quickly gives her right butt cheek a lick with his tongue. The woman is so shocked that she has a violent spasm and the obstruction flies out of her mouth. As she begins to breathe again, the Hillbilly walks slowly back to the bar.

His partner says, "Ya know, I'd heerd of that there 'Hind LickManeuver' but I ain't niver seed nobody do it!"

(Now you know what a 'Hind LickManeuver' is)

Although it was very sickening to see Baby Roses (the lucky recipient of the 'Hind LickManeuver') was ever so grateful to Boondock_saint07 (the bestower) she bent over and let him do again.

After all the family greetings were out were out of the way, the real 'down home fun' began.

I waited till the day after the election before putting my hand to pen. I wanted to make absolutely sure that there wasn't going to be any type of recount or court involvement, as we know that has happened before.

It is official Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States of America and already he has started keeping his campaign promises. Obama promised that the democratic map would expand and it did. There weren't riots in the streets, quite the opposite there was joy and hope in the streets. The American people got back something they have been missing, their belief that their voices did matter, they relearn that we the people do in fact hold the power as long as we are willing to work for it.

I wanted to get some facts out there before all the bullshit starts in hopes that maybe this will stop a handful of scared, hateful people in their tracks. First fact I wanted to put out there is; unlike what some are already saying, it was not one group that elected President Obama it was the voices of many from all demographics. Obama won popular vote 53% to 47% and I'm going to break that down a bit. African-Americans made up 13% of the vote, voters under 30 (this included first time voters and the young vote) made up 18% of the vote. Now if you add all this together that is 31% of the vote leaving 22% which did NOT fall into young or African-American vote.

These are the facts, we the American people elected Obama, people from all races, religions, gender, and age. We came together and spoke with a united voice, we all want a better country for our children and grandchildren to come. We wanted to show the world that no matter what affliction comes our way we can and we do come together to expand on the very principals of our country, equality, freedom and justice.

I have always said it is the American people I have hope for and believe in and now I hope the world can understand why Americans are proud of their country and why they think the US is the best system out there. Is it perfect, of course not but that is part of the beauty to know we had a solid foundation to build upon and that we can always move our country towards a more perfect union.

As President Obama said in his acceptance speech last night, this is our victory. Every single person that made calls, knocked on doors, donated $5.00, helped at the polls and voted, this is your victory, this is America's victory and the world's.

Although there are already many saying President Obama isn't their president, that is ok because you are his fellow Americans and he will be a president for all, even to those that disagree with him or refuse to call him their President. He will be a servant of the people as is the duty of the president, he will not dictate to us, he will not try to be King Obama, he will work tireless for all Americans, even you.

To every single American I want to thank you for all you have done, and to ask you to not slack off now. There is a hell of a lot of work ahead and it will be a long and sometimes a rough road, but it will always be a road worth travelling.

HuFlungPoo is the room owner of a new chat-room named Flip Side Politics. The room brags about being fair and balanced but in words only. The actions of the rooms admins are truly one sided and they will not allow a liberal to be an admin in the room, no matter what HuFlungPoo (yes the room owner) wants.

Mystic Sea Maiden was going to write about this new room to get it out there for chatters to know it existed, but after I sat there and watch how the room in 'controlled' I begged Mystic to allow me.

Mystic is a friend of HuFlungPoo and agreed she would not be able to be unbias in her description of Flip Side politics and we know I can be.

HuFlungPoo is the know male ho of paltalk, and he freely admits this is a rumor he has heard often and whenever a non-rightwing nut comes into the room and starts to debate, well just as in the current elections going on in the states the admins distracts from the topic and brings up how much of a 'ho' HuFlungPoo is.

HuFlungPoo wanted Mystic to be an admin in the room to lean some creditability to their claim of fair and balanced, well lordy lordy there was almost a mutiny.

Mystic always the lady made things easy for HuFlungPoo and declined his invitation to be an admin in his room, with a warning his room would be tagged as a conservative nutso room if he didn't find some democrat or liberal to be an admin.

Fair and balanced as Fox News.

Now on to my personal opinion of Flip Side Politics, its a room full of stupidity and fear. The average IQ level in the room maybe 60 and that is mainly because of kelygurl being one of the admins and of course she has a high IQ, without her I would rate the IQ of room as 30. No issues are allowed to be debated unless it is in agreement with the admins of 'fairness'. And HuFlungPoo is the biggest whore on paltalk according to his admins.

If you need a laugh or a break from the reality of today's economy, politics, etc... this is the room. If you would like to take a peek into a world of insanity and fantasy this is the room for you.

700 BILLION dollars, we the tax payers has given to corporate America, where is our Thank You? Also what happened to the world as we know it will collapse if the bail-out hadn't happened? Not one item of the bail out has been implemented and yet it seems that our credit cards, ATM cards and checks are still working.

Is corporate America feeling the pinch, of course they are, but Main Street has been feeling the pinch for over a year now and the government didn't seem to care then. Maybe since most of government is invested in corporate America , they didn't care that Joe and Jane American couldn't afford health insurance, college for their children, house payments, or the fact that Mr. & Mrs. American's retirement was flying out the window as corporate America's CEO's were making millions if not billions as rewards for screwing over Mr. & Mrs. American and their children.

Is it too much to ask for a Thank You? Just a 3 second Thank You Americans for bailing us out when we were all for letting you sink. How hard can that be?

Demand your Thank You, its the least they could do for 700 billion we gave them, don't you think?

We are witnessing a political phenomenon with Barack Obama of
rare magnitude.
His speeches have inspired millions and yet most of his followers
have no idea of what he stands for except platitudes of 'Change' or that he
says he will be a 'Uniter'.
The power of speech from a charismatic person truly can be a
powerful thing. Certainly Billy Graham had charisma. Both his manner of
speech and particularly the content changed mil lions.
On the extreme other hand, the charisma of Adolph Hitler, too,
inspired millions and the results were catastrophic.
Barack Obama certainly is no Hitler or a Billy Graham, but for
many Americans riding on the Obama Tidal Wave it is just like a surfer who
might be ecstatic and euphoric while riding a tidal wave, but the reality of
the ride is what happens when it hits shore.
Just Some of What Defines Barack Obama:
. He voted for partial birth abortion.
. He voted no on notifying parents o f minors who get
out-of-state abortions.
. Supports affirmative action in Colleges and Government
(quotas)..
. In 2001 he questioned harsh penalties for drug dealing as being

. Admitted his use of marijuana and cocaine in high school and

. He voted No on repealing the 'Death' Tax. Tax Increase.
. He wants to raise the Capital Gains Tax. Tax Increase...
&nb sp; . Has repeatedly said the surge in Iraq has not
succeeded...which is not true.
. He is ranked as the most liberal Senator in the Senate today
and that takes some doing.
If your political choices are consistent with Barack Obama's and
you think that his positions will bring America together or make it a better
place, then you will probably enjoy the ride and not forward this Email.
If you are like most Americans that after examining what he stands for, are
truly not in line with his record, it would be prudent to get off the wave
or better yet, never get on, before it comes on shore and undermines the
very foundations of this great Country. We have limited time to save
America or the Supreme Court as we know it.

Bailout- What They Say When We Aren't Listening

A memo was evidently sent to SIFMA members; others may have been contacted by other means. But the report I got from one person who was on the call was the the questions came from financial services industry members. In other words, this was most assuredly not intended to be a call open to the public at large. If anyone from the media or other member of the great unwashed was listening in, it was by accident.

This is simply scandalous. To have a group of interested parties get a privileged briefing by government officials on a matter of keen public interest flies in the face of what a democracy is supposed to be about. The proper method would either be a published FAQ on the Treasury website or a briefing with the media included. But why should I be surprised? Favoritism has been a staple of the Bush Administration.

This is really shady and should not be allowed, especially when so much of our tax payer dollars are at stake.

Remember that we, the public weren't supposed to hear these things, and it's because of these very issues that I'm glad the bill failed. But they're going to continue pushing for this crap, and we need to call our congresspeople and our newspapers and let everyone know about this and what they're really planning when they don't think the public is listening. This will be the biggest financial giveaway in American history. Feel free to forward this!

Notes people have made upon listening to the call..I am posting a few, you can read them all at the original post...My additions in red:

1 The tranching is a mere formality, and the Treasury boys as much as said so. They could take the $700 billion max as soon as the bill has passed,

5. The exec comp provisions sound like a joke, They DO NOT affect existing contracts, they affect only contracts entered into during the two years of the authority of this program and then affect only golden parachutes (definition of golden parachutes). More detail on that point, but I don't need more detail to get the drift of the gist.

2) Waiting a couple of weeks because no one has any idea when or where the next bomb will blow up. In other words, all their doomsday scenarios about Black Monday were B.S. They screamed the check had to be written by Monday, but now they're saying they actually have a few weeks before they need to cash it. Plus, this will allow them to "seek guidance" from GS, JPM, and other selfless public servants about where the money should be funneled.

The tap dancing (reason they are saying they aren't going to act for a couple of weeks even though this is some huge crisis) is because they don't want it to get out that they'll be giving a sweetheart deal. The public won't be following each individual transaction to see exactly what price is being paid. So ridiculously overpriced asset sales can be hidden in the details, and by the time some reporter (or blogger Smile combs through and analyzes the transactions, the deed will have been done. But if Paulson makes a statement that assets will be bought at par before the bailout's even begun, that will be reported and might kill the deal. (Thats why this conference call was supposed to be private)

If you come to the Treasury and you are in trouble, you get reamed. Bear/AIG style treatment, execs probably fired. But if you participate on a voluntary basis, the intent is to make it very user friendly. (They actually say that in the call, they want to make it user friendly...what is this, some sort of tea party??) That is consistent with Paulson's position during the negotiations.

In other words, we need to sweeten the pot to encourage banks to come "voluntarily". Pardon my ignorance, but why the hell should we be begging banks to borrow from us? I thought a bailout should be the absolute last option for a bank. I.e., it should be so unpalatable, so unprofitable for a bank and its executives that they exhaust every private means of survival before coming for their public "reaming". I wonder if foreclosed homeowners would rate their foreclosure process as "user friendly".

Eligibility: as broad participation by institutions as possible. The
more participation, the more effective it will be. Want banks of all
sizes or any financial institution that has a meaningful presence in
the US to be interested and enthusiastic. (Can you say massive giveaway?!)

Purpose is to help private sector clean up their balance sheets. (I have debt, but I don't see them wanting to help clean up MY balance sheet.)

Market mechanism: Congress wanted taxpayer benefit in upside. Sell
warrants for assets over $100M , but the amount of warrants is still
TBD. WE want healthy institutions to participate so it should not be
punitive. (Why not punitive? If I don't pay my bills, I get in trouble. But not big time banks that rape homeowners with outlandish mortgages and lines of credit they know people can't afford..nah, they get bailouts.)

Quote from the call: It requires us to take warrants at the Secretary's discretion ... in the direct case [i.e. a seizure of a failing institution] we will be very aggressive in taking warrants for the taxpayer benefit. ... Companies that sell over $100 million dollars into this fund must give warrants.

The warrants we can set at whatever level we want to set, it's not specified. We want to set that at a level so there is some upside for the taxpayers, but also encourages all firms to participate. This goes back to the spirit that we don't want just failing institutions to participate but also healthy firms to participate. Having that discretion was very very important to us.

Healthy firms are not only able but encouraged to come in and take taxpayers for $100 million, with no downside for them and no upside for us. (we're basically giving $100 million to any bank for free, no need to pay back as long as it's not over $100 million) While the Treasury will be very aggressive about taking stock options on failing institutions, when healthy institutions come for their checks, the Treasury will set the price of the warrant at whatever level is high enough to keep the firm at the trough. (The point should be to save sick institutions, not just have a massive giveaway program to banks that aren't in crisis!)

Clawback of taxpayer losses:
1. it's a long way out, "a lot can happen in that time"
2. it's targeted at all financial institutions, not just participants! (that means it will never happen)
3. would need more congressional and presidential action to implement this.

Tranching of $700B (I didn't know that was a limit)

Entire 700B is appropriated entirely by the act, no further appropriation necessary.

Tranching: first $250B
Then Secretary determines that more is needed and tells Congress, another $100B
Then Secretary determines that more is needed and Congress has 15 days to refuse, the remaining $350B

No time limits. Can request all the tranches at once, no need for delays.

To block the last $350B, Congress has to say no. Then the President can
veto that. To override that veto, Congress needs 2/3 majority.

ALL of that must happen within 15 days, otherwise the money goes out.

Can't the President wait and veto it with one minute left in the 15 days?

Last night on paltalk the servers went down. voos room had 143 people in it.15 minutes later when the servers came back up i started watching the room numbers from all rooms.
After 1 hour all rooms got back to thier normal numbers range except one.
voos room, it had 73 people in it. half of the total just 20 minutes before.
The reason for this is as i stated months ago is nearly half of the members in his room at any time are there just to leave thier nic`s in there to help his numbers and his ego. and by the way with 143 people, there were only 2 hands up.
I kept an eye out on the numbers and they stayed that way give or take a few till about 6 am in the morning.

Gustav, a Category 2 storm, slammed the Louisiana coast Monday. Hurricane Katrina was a Category 3 storm when it hit the Gulf Coast three years ago, heavily damaging 90,000 square miles of property and costing billions of dollars.
Joined on the rope line by Gov. Ed Rendell and Sen. Bob Casey, Biden said, “It’s good to be home,” adding that Scranton always lives in his heart.
“Ladies and gentlemen the fact of the matter is, it is no malarkey. You can’t have lived here without taking part of Scranton — it occupies your heart, It never leaves,” he said.
As Biden was explaining the need to switch focus from campaign politics to hurricane victims, the Delaware senator misspoke — saying he was running for president rather than vice president.
“I will be back, I’ll be back to campaign in earnest, but today is not the moment for me to campaign,” he said. “Today is the moment for me as a United States senator running for president to put aside the national politics and focus on what’s happening down there.”

Thomas Sowell was born in North Carolina and grew up in Harlem . As with many others in his neighborhood, he left home early and did not finish high school. The next few years were difficult ones, but eventually he joined the Marine Corps and became a photographer in the Korean War. After leaving the service, Sowell entered Harvard University , worked a part-time job as a photographer and studied the science that would become his passion and profession: economics.

After graduating magna cum laude from Harvard University (1958), he went on to receive his master's in economics from Columbia University (1959) and a doctorate in economics from the University of Chicago (1968).

In the early '60s, Sowell held jobs as an economist with the Department of Labor and AT&T. But his real interest was in teaching and scholarship. In 1965, at Cornell University , he began the first of many professorships. His other teaching assignments include Rutgers University , Amherst University , Brandeis University and the University of California at Los Angeles , where he taught in the early '70s and also from 1984 to 1989.

Sowell has published a large volume of writing. His dozen books, as well as numerous articles and essays, cover a wide range of topics, from classic economic theory to judicial activism, from civil rights to choosing the right college. Moreover, much of his writing is considered ground-breaking -- work that will outlive the great majority of scholarship done today.

Though Sowell had been a regular contributor to newspapers in the late '70s and early '80s, he did not begin his career as a newspaper columnist until 1984. George F. Will's writing, says Sowell, proved to him that someone could say something of substance in so short a space (750 words). And besides, writing for the general public enables him to address the heart of issues without the smoke and mirrors that so often accompany academic writing. In 1990, he won the prestigious Francis Boyer Award, presented by The American Enterprise Institute.

Now that the two parties have finally selected their presidential candidates, it is time for a sober-- if not grim-- assessment of where we are. Not since 1972 have we been presented with two such painfully inadequate candidates. When Election Day came that year, I could not bring myself to vote for either George McGovern or Richard Nixon. I stayed home.

This year, none of us has that luxury. While all sorts of gushing is going on in the media, and posturing is going on in politics, the biggest national sponsor of terrorism in the world-- Iran-- is moving step by step toward building a nuclear bomb.

The point when they get that bomb will be the point of no return. Iran 's nuclear bomb will be the terrorists' nuclear bomb-- and they can make 9/11 look like child's play.

All the options that are on the table right now will be swept off the table forever. Our choices will be to give in to whatever the terrorists demand-- however outrageous those demands might be-- or to risk seeing American cities start disappearing in radioactive mushroom clouds.

All the things we are preoccupied with today, from the price of gasoline to health care to global warming, will suddenly no longer matter.

Just as the Nazis did not find it enough to simply kill people in their concentration camps, but had to humiliate and dehumanize them first, so we can expect terrorists with nuclear weapons to both humiliate us and force us to humiliate ourselves, before they finally start killing us.

They have already telegraphed their punches with their sadistic beheadings of innocent civilians, and with the popularity of videotapes of those beheadings in the Middle East .

They have already telegraphed their intention to dictate to us with such things as Osama bin Laden's threats to target those places in America that did not vote the way he prescribed in the 2004 elections. He could not back up those threats then but he may be able to in a very few years.

The terrorists have given us as clear a picture of what they are all about as Adolf Hitler and the Nazis did during the 1930s-- and our 'leaders' and intelligentsia have ignored the warning signs as resolutely as the 'leaders' and intelligentsia of the 1930s downplayed the dangers of Hitler.

We are much like people drifting down the Niagara River , oblivious to the waterfalls up ahead.. Once we go over those falls, we cannot come back up again.

What does this have to do with today's presidential candidates? It has everything to do with them.

One of these candidates will determine what we are going to do to stop Iran from going nuclear-- or whether we are going to do anything other than talk, as Western leaders talked in the 1930s.

There is one big difference between now and the 1930s. Although the West's lack of military preparedness and its political irresolution led to three solid years of devastating losses to Nazi Germany and imperial Japan , nevertheless when all the West's industrial and military forces were finally mobilized, the democracies were able to turn the tide and win decisively.

But you cannot lose a nuclear war for three years and then come back. You cannot even sustain the will to resist for three years when you are first broken down morally by threats and then devastated by nuclear bombs.
Our one window of opportunity to prevent this will occur within the term of whoever becomes President of the United States next January.

At a time like this, we do not have the luxury of waiting for our ideal candidate or of indulging our emotions by voting for some third party candidate to show our displeasure-- at the cost of putting someone in the White House who is not up to the job.

Senator John McCain has been criticized in this column many times. But, when all is said and done, Senator McCain has not spent decades aiding and abetting people who hate America .

On the contrary, he has paid a huge price for resisting our enemies, even when they held him prisoner and tortured him.

The choice between him and Barack Obama should be a no-brainer.

In additional comments from that same conversation, first reported by TVNewser, Jackson is reported to have said Obama was "talking down to black people," and referred to blacks with the N-word when he said Obama was telling them "how to behave."
Though a Fox spokesman confirmed to The Associated Press that Jackson used the slur, the network declined to release the full transcript of the July 6 show and did not air the comments.
Jackson, who is now traveling in Spain, apologized in a statement last Wednesday for "hurtful words" but didn't offer specifics.
"I am deeply saddened and distressed by the pain and sorrow that I have caused as a result of my hurtful words. I apologize again to Senator Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, their children as well as to the American public," Jackson said in a written statement.
"There really is no justification for my comments and I hope that the Obama family and the American public will forgive me. I also pray that we, as a nation, can move on to address the real issues that affect the American people."
A spokeswoman for Jackson's civil rights organization, Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, said she could not confirm that Jackson used the slur.

SOCIAL ISSUE DRAMA ONLY THE FACTS

Isn't it wonderful all the new blogs being opened over paltalk social issue drama? I've been reading (if you can call it that) the newest blog Social Drama and I want to clarify some so-called facts mentioned there and other places. This all started a couple of weeks ago when LordMercifulVoo was taking on tommyjohnson (now you want to talk about an idiot?) and LittleBitNotAlot decided she had to protect little tommyboy since tommy is such a wuss. LittleBitNotAlotof course coming in at half-time thought she had every right to attack a chatter who dared went after her true love tommyjohnson. LordMercifulVoo told LittleBitNotAlot to stay out of it & of course with her power-tripping heavy head she decided to let LordMercifulVoo know who was boss and he just defended his right as a chatter, when LittleBitNotAlot threatened LordMercifulVoo with a bounce he simply let her know that she could lose her hat as quickly as the next person, she couldn't stand that being told that fact so she bounced LordMercifulVoo, unknown to LittleBitNotAlot, LordMercifulVoo still retained his hat in Debate Central and he returned with a hat on.

When LordMercifulVoo returned to room he did for about one minute went off on LittleBitNotAlot. LordMercifulVoo then continued on with the discussion going on in the room. How dare him, is what abby_1312 must have been thinking and is her great wisdom that belong to all insane abby_1312 decided to step in; never mind that she had only been in room for 3 minutes. LordMercifulVoo told abby_1312 to mind her own business (in his own nice way), next thing you know LittleBitNotAlot was telling everyone LordMercifulVoo threatened her, now I was in the room along with 87 other chatters and not one of us saw him threatened LittleBitNotAlot unless puncturing her ego is now considered as a threat. LittleBitNotAlot, cried to S_Link90 with tears in her voice whining that LordMercifulVoo was mean to her (talk about needing thicker skin), at first S_Link90 did the right thing and told her he wasn't going to get involved he had no clue what had happened.

Meanwhile abby_1312 was stabbing her best friend Dommie in the back along with 5 other so-called admin friends of Dommie's,

This tale does continue, like why LordMercifulVoo was banned from Mainstream Politics in Two way after he had Dommie's back, how and if auntykate lost her hat or turned it in, not mention the room text of that historic day paltalk social issue had a melt-down, but before I leave here's teaser of whats to come,
